SAVANNAH, Ga., October 4, 2010 - Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently named Bill Colleran director, Technical Information Services. He reports to Greg Hammerstein, director, Field Service.
In his new position, Colleran oversees Gulfstream’s technical publications, Computerized Maintenance Program (CMP) and reliability/maintainability organizations.
Most recently, Colleran was senior site manager, Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), Gulfstream, at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla. In his 17 years with CLS, Colleran was directly involved in the successful execution of several maintenance contracts in support of U.S. government Special Air Missions (SAMs). He also served as a field service representative (FSR), assisting the Joint Base Andrews Naval Air Facility Washington.
In 2007, Colleran led a team that developed and launched CLS.net, a unique web-based order tracking and inventory management program, which resulted in improved inventory accuracy and real-time transaction management and reporting. He was also responsible for the recent implementation of a Safety Management System (SMS) for the CLS unit.
Before starting his career at Gulfstream as an avionics technician, Colleran spent 12 years in the U.S. Marines, including five as a flight engineer for the Gulfstream C-20 (GIII). Upon leaving the Marines, he joined the District of Columbia Air National Guard.
Colleran earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in professional aeronautics and management, respectively, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He holds an airframe and power plant (A&P) license from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and is a certified FlightSafety International Master Technician for the GV.
