GULFSTREAM V BUSINESS JET SURPASSES 10,000 FLIGHT HOURS FOR G5 EXECUTIVE
Ultra-Long-Range GV Aircraft Meets European Charter Company’s Business Needs
SAVANNAH , Ga. June 9, 2006 – An ultra-long-range Gulfstream V (GV) business jet operated by G5 Executive AG, a charter aircraft operator based in Zurich, Switzerland, today surpassed 10,000 flight hours. The GV, which has now completed 2,411 takeoffs/landings, accomplished the milestone during an overnight flight from Lilongwe International Airport in Malawi, Africa, to London-Luton Airport in England.
“The GV has proven to be extremely reliable,” said Peter Fried, G5 executive chairman and chief executive officer. “The overall reliability, outstanding performance and high level of comfort of both the GV and G550 make them exceptional charter aircraft. Without the performance and reliability of this hard-working GV, serial number 517, we would not be what we are today. This GV was the first aircraft in the GV fleet to undergo engine midlife and overhaul. It is already a legend.”
G5 Executive took delivery of the GV on May 5, 1998. In addition to the fleet-leading GV, the company also operates three other Gulfstream business jets – two large-cabin, ultra-long-range G550 aircraft and one large-cabin G450 aircraft. According to Fried, G5’s Gulfstream fleet averages 440 flight hours a month. At ASIAN Aerospace 2006 in Singapore in February, G5 Executive was awarded an Aviation Excellence Award in the Business Aviation category.
“The extraordinary performance the GV provides G5 Executive is testament to the aircraft’s reliability, workmanship and dependability,” said Bryan Moss, president, Gulfstream.
“We are committed to providing G5 Executive and other charter operations incomparable business-jet aircraft and support services for their growing operations.”
