GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE ASSIGNS FIELD SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TO ASSIST AIRCRAFT OPERATORS IN EUROPE
New Zurich-Based Representative Added in Response to Increase in Business Aviation Traffic in Europe
SAVANNAH , Ga. , May 2, 2006 – Gulfstream Aerospace has added a new field service representative to provide technical support in Europe as business aviation traffic continues to grow in the region. Larry Turner, a 25-year Gulfstream employee who was previously based in Los Angeles , transferred to Zurich , Switzerland , earlier this month to serve as the Gulfstream field service representative in the area.
“Zurich was the perfect location to base our new European field service representative, said Larry Flynn, president, product support, Gulfstream. “A large number of Gulfstream operators manage, maintain and operate their aircraft out of Zurich International Airport, one of the busiest airports in Europe . Also the large number of daily airline connections out of Zurich will enable Larry to respond quickly when assisting aircraft operators.”
Larry Turner joined Gulfstream in 1981 as an avionics technician at the company’s Savannah , Ga. , Service Center . In 1987, he moved into Gulfstream’s Technical Operations department, first as a technical operations system specialist and then the group lead. In 1992, Turner became a field service representative based in London, U.K. He spent 11 years in London, managing and coordinating the field service operations for Gulfstream operators in Europe , Africa and the Middle East . For the past three years, Turner has served as a domestic field service representative.
“Larry’s extensive experience on all models of Gulfstream aircraft as well as his 15 years as a field service experience, both in the U.S. and overseas, made him the perfect candidate for this new position,” Flynn added.
Gulfstream currently employs 40 field service representatives throughout the world.
