GULFSTREAM’S SAVANNAH MANUFACTURING FACILITY PASSES FIRST SEMI-ANNUAL AUDIT REQUIRED FOR CONTINUED ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION AND OHSAS 18001 SPECIFICATION COMPLIANCE
Gulfstream Adopts International Standards for Managing Environmental Risk

SAVANNAH, Ga., July 14, 2005 - Gulfstream, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has passed its first semi-annual audit, which is required for the business-jet manufacturer to maintain its ISO 14001 certification and OHSAS 18001 specification for its Savannah , Ga. , business-jet manufacturing facility.

In December 2004, an independent registrar accredited by the U.S.-based Registrar Accreditation Board granted the Gulfstream site the ISO 14001 certification, which is earned by companies that are in compliance with regulatory standards and demonstrate an established and uniform approach to managing their environmental policies and procedures. At the same time, Gulfstream established compliance with OHSAS 18001, an Occupational Health & Safety Administration specification that improves on health and safety management systems designed to make the workplace safer.

“At Gulfstream, we take the matter of on-the-job safety and environmental protection extremely seriously,” said Bryan Moss, president, Gulfstream. “The positive results of this audit indicate that we continue to improve our environmental management programs and are succeeding in our efforts to create the safest possible work environment for each and every one of our employees.”

Gulfstream’s overall Environmental Health and Safety Management System is designed to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, minimize potential for employee injury or harmful environment impact, achieve continual improvement and integrate environmental, health and safety issues into business planning processes. Gulfstream’s recordable incident rate is less than 25 percent of the average incident rate for the aerospace industry.

Gulfstream’s Savannah facility designs, builds, completes and services business-jet aircraft.
