GULFSTREAM'S U.K. FACILITY APPROVED AS AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER FOR HONEYWELL TFE 731-SERIES ENGINES
With Authorization, Gulfstream London Luton Renews Commitment to Provide Maintenance for Various Business Jet Aircraft
SAVANNAH, Ga., Feb. 04, 2004 -The Gulfstream maintenance center at London Luton Airport has been approved by Honeywell as an authorized service center for Honeywell's TFE-series engines - TFE731-2 through TFE731-60.
"With this authorization, we renew the original commitment made last year to our non-Gulfstream aircraft customers throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa," said Larry Flynn, president, Gulfstream Product Support. "We will continue enhancing our capabilities at London Luton to ensure all of our customers, no matter which type of aircraft they own or operate, receive the best possible service and maintenance in the region."
Acquired by Gulfstream just nine months ago, London Luton is the only company-operated maintenance center outside the United States. Located at the London Luton Airport in England, the maintenance center is just 35 miles north of central London.
Honeywell's official authorization endorses the ability of Gulfstream London Luton to perform service and maintenance on the TFE731 engines, to file Honeywell MSP (Maintenance Service Plan) claims and to perform warranty work. Honeywell granted Gulfstream London Luton the authorized status following a thorough audit process involving technician training and availability of spares.
The TFE731 family of engines spans 27 different aircraft applications, including Citation, Falcon, Hawker and Westwind aircraft. Since the first TFE731 engine was certified in 1972, more than 11,000 TFE engines have been produced.
Gulfstream London Luton holds the distinction of being the first Federal Aviation Administration-certificated maintenance center outside the United States to be awarded an FAA Aviation Maintenance Technician Diamond Certificate of Excellence. With this recognition, Gulfstream London Luton has joined Gulfstream's five U.S.-based service centers as a recognized AMT Diamond Award station and three Gulfstream Contract Logistic Support (CLS) maintenance teams based at Andrews Air Force Base, Md. Gulfstream's five U.S. service centers are located in Long Beach, Calif.; Dallas; Appleton, Wis.; Savannah, Ga.; and Brunswick, Ga.
In addition to Citation, Falcon and Hawker aircraft, the London Luton service center provides comprehensive service for all current models of Gulfstream aircraft - the Gulfstream G550™, G500™, G450™ G400™ and G300™. Additionally, it provides service for owners of legacy Gulfstream aircraft - the GV®, GIV® / IV-SP®, GIII® and the GII®.
