GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE APPOINTS ANGLO AMERICAN AN AUTHORIZED LINE SERVICE CENTER IN SOUTH AFRICA
Anglo American to Provide Service, Maintenance and Warranty Repairs for Large-Cabin Gulfstream Business Jets
SAVANNAH, Ga., April 22, 2003 - Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has appointed South-African aircraft service company Anglo American as an authorized line service center for Gulfstream's large-cabin, ultra-long-range business jets - the G550™, G500™ and Gulfstream V® - and large-cabin, long-range jets - the G400™, G300™, Gulfstream IV® and Gulfstream IV-SP®. Anglo American, based at Johannesburg International Airport, is the first line service facility on the African continent authorized by Gulfstream to maintain and service its aircraft.
"We're pleased that Anglo American has joined our international network of service and maintenance facilities that are specially qualified to perform work on Gulfstream aircraft," said Larry Flynn, president, Gulfstream Product Support. "Operators of the growing Gulfstream fleet on the African continent will now have available to them the same level of training and expertise that is available to our North American and other international customers."
Anglo American, which has been in operation since 1936, performs inspections, maintenance and warranty service on both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.
Gulfstream has authorized warranty centers in Sydney, Australia; Singapore; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Geneva, Basel and Altenhrein, Switzerland; Hanover, Germany; and Detroit, Mich. Additionally, Gulfstream has authorized line service facilities in Sendai, Japan; Hong Kong; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; and Caracas, Venezuela.
