GULFSTREAM G200 RECEIVES CERTIFICATION TO FLY IN CHINA
China's Aviation Authority Approves Registration of First Gulfstream Business Jet

SAVANNAH, Ga., Sept. 27, 2002 - Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), announced that the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) certified the Gulfstream G200 business jet Sept. 10, 2002.

"As a result of this CAAC certification, a Gulfstream G200 business jet can now be owned and registered in China," said Roger Sperry, Gulfstream division vice president, international sales, South America and Far East Asia. "We are confident the G200 with its outstanding performance will meet the future travel needs of business executives in China, just as it has done for executives in the rest of the world."

Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW 306A engines, the large-cabin, mid-range Gulfstream G200 features an excellent climb rate, high-cruising altitude, high-speed, as well as long-range and short-landing capabilities. At a cruising speed of .80 Mach and a cruising altitude of 45,000 feet, the G200 can fly up to 3,600 nautical miles - from Beijing to Anchorage, Alaska - without refueling.

With seating for up to 10 passengers, the cabin interior offers low ambient noise levels, 100 percent fresh air, natural light from generous windows and ample workspace for busy travelers.

The G200 benefits from the many improvements made in the 15 months since the G200 joined the Gulfstream fleet. Improvements include exceptions at delivery have dropped by some 90 percent, with the most recent aircraft delivered experiencing only 10 exceptions. Equally importantly, completions cycle time has decreased by 68 percent - from 14 months to 4 1/2 months - while an aggressive weight reduction program has already exceeded 50 percent of a targeted 650 pounds.
