GULFSTREAM OFFERS ONE-OF-A-KIND CABIN MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR GIV-SP AND GV AIRCRAFT CUSTOMERS
Exclusive Service Enhances the Design and Use of the Aircraft Cabin
NBAA, New Orleans, Oct. 10, 2000 -- Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation now offers cabin management services to all new Gulfstream IV-SP and Gulfstream V aircraft customers. This service, an industry first, focuses on increasing customers' productivity and comfort in the cabin.
Gulfstream offers a full range of products and services that optimize each customer's cabin experience. These include practical insight to an aircraft's interior design, corporate flight attendant training, an aircraft-specific cabin operating manual and a cabin familiarization video.
"For years, owners and operators of large-cabin jets have considered Gulfstream aircraft synonymous with 'excellence," said Mark Burns, vice president, customer programs. "We continue to improve on our high standards by providing customers world-class cabin designs, offering assistance with initial cabin provisioning, and training Gulfstream cabin crew members to ensure that their passengers are comfortable and productive."
Ann Holmes, manager of cabin management services, brings more than 18 years of corporate and commercial jet in-flight cabin experience. "We can offer knowledge and suggestions from a practical viewpoint because the flight attendant is the crew member who spends the most time using the systems and components inside the cabin," she said. "Having us assist with the finishing touches onboard an aircraft before it is delivered to a customer greatly enhances the whole Gulfstream experience."
Gulfstream customers of newly completed and pre-owned aircraft are offered an initial four-day Flight Attendant Emergency Procedures training course, provided by FlightSafety International at their Gulfstream Training Facility in Savannah, Ga.
Gulfstream's cabin operating manual, customized for each aircraft, is provided to help the cabin crew perform at its highest potential beginning with the aircraft's first flight. Included in the manual are diagrams of the aircraft's cabin configuration and cabinetry, operating instructions for cabin systems and components and procedures for berthing seating for overnight flights. Manuals are provided to all customers upon delivery of their GIV-SPs and GVs.
The cabin familiarization video is filmed on board each customer's aircraft. The three-minute videotape identifies emergency equipment locations as well as operation of all emergency exits and doors. The video is included with every new aircraft delivered from Gulfstream's Savannah facility and will be provided to our Long Beach and Dallas customers by January 2001.
"By listening to our customers and their cabin crews, we developed services that meet each of their unique needs," Holmes said. "We are dedicated to providing Gulfstream cabin crew members with the best education, resources, and support so they can deliver the best service possible in the safest cabin environment."
The Gulfstream IV is the world's best-selling large-cabin, long-range business aircraft. The GIV/GIV-SP fleet has accumulated nearly 1.3 million hours of flight time and boasts an impressive dispatch reliability rate of 99.5 percent. The GIV/IV-SP also holds 74 world and national flight records.
The Gulfstream V, the world's first ultra-long-range, large-cabin business jet, is capable of flying 6,500 nautical miles at speeds up to Mach .885 and cruising at altitudes up to 51,000 feet. Powered by two Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofan engines, the Gulfstream V is the only ultra-long range aircraft that allows passengers to enjoy a maximum cabin altitude of 6,000 feet and a 100-percent fresh air ventilation system. The Gulfstream V has set a total of 65 official world and national records for distance and speed. The fleet of more than 90 GV aircraft in service worldwide has already achieved in excess of 66,000 flight hours and a dispatch reliability rate exceeding 99 percent.
